Hoobastank

Hoobastank is an American rock band, best known for their 2004 hit "The Reason" and other hits "Crawling in the Dark" and "Running Away". They formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California, with singer Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, drummer Chris Hesse, and original bassist Markku Lappalainen. They are signed to Island Records and have released four albums and one extended play to date. Their fourth and most recent studio album, For(N)ever, was released in January 2009. They have sold 10 million albums worldwide.
Hoobastank formed in the Los Angeles County suburb Agoura Hills in 1994. According to drummer Chris Hesse, vocalist Doug Robb had known guitarist Dan Estrin for some time before competing against him in a high school battle of the bands competition and subsequently, they decided to form a band.^[1] They then recruited Markku Lappalainen and Hesse to form Hoobastank.
Hoobastank started playing gigs at the local venue Cobalt Cafe along with Incubus, 311 and others. They recorded their first full-length self-released album in 1998 called They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To. It featured an unusual saxophone section headed by Jeremy Wasser, who executive produced said album and recorded the Summer Romance saxophone solo on Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E. album. The Incubus connections continued with Fourth Street Recording's music producer Jim Wirt and logos and visual design by Brett Spivey.
e band entered the studio in 2003 with producer Howard Benson. Recording was disrupted for a month when Dan Estrin was seriously injured in a minibike accident in August. Estrin had recovered by October and the band headed off on a Nokia Unwired Tour with The All-American Rejects and Ozomatli in November. An interview was made with Chris 'soldier' Hesse, asking the same question all ask ... "How did the band come up with the name Hoobastank?" He replied, "Doug's brother is the vice president of BMW Motorcycles and lives in Germany. And there is this street out by his house that is called Hooba Street or something like that and before Doug could pronounce the name, he called it Hoobastank and it was kinda a cute thing and his brother still teases him about it to this day. When we were looking for band names it's almost impossible to find a band name that hasn't been taken. Anything remotely normal has been taken already. I don't remember how it came up but someone said it and we were like yeah."^[3]
Their second album The Reason was released in December 2003. It showcased a harder-edged vocal performance from Robb. The single "Same Direction" was made available for download on the band's website. Doug Robb says on the band's website: "A lot of it is about asking questions or questioning all that people see. It's not all about religion. "Out of Control" is about that and about opening your eyes after being blinded by being devoted to anything." "Same Direction" would reach #9 on the US Modern Rock chart, #16 on the Mainstream Rock chart and #16 on a composite World Modern Rock chart (based on the US, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Canada, and Australia). A year later, the Let It Out DVD collected the band's videos. 'The Reason' was put to a popular music video on Tangle.^[4]
The title track was released as a single in the first half of 2004. It became a hit reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the US and World Modern Rock charts, #10 in Australia and #15 in Germany. The song was also played during the final episode of Friends. In Canada, it spent 21 weeks at the top, setting a new record for most weeks at No. 1. Meanwhile in the United States, the album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Doug Robb provided vocals for Apocalyptica's new single release "Not Strong Enough ft Doug Robb" on January 18, 2011.
On February 15, 2011, Doug announced on Twitter that there is a new album being released, although no timeframe was offered.
In June 2011, the band went on tour in Iraq for the USO Road Tour performing for the U.S. military throughout the country.

Ricardo Kaka

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁiˈkaɾdu iˈzɛksõw duˈsɐ̃tus ˈlejtʃi]; born 22 April 1982), commonly known as Kaká ( /kæˈkɑː/), is a Brazilian football attacking midfielder who currently plays for Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid^[2] and the Brazilian national team. Kaká started his footballing career at the age of eight, when he began playing for a local club. At the time, he also played tennis,^[3] and it was not until he moved on to São Paulo FC and signed his first professional contract with the club at the age of fifteen that he chose to focus on football.
In 2003 he joined Milan for a fee of €8.5 million. While at Milan, Kaká won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007. After his success with Milan, Kaká joined Real Madrid for a world record fee of £56 million, smashing the previous record of Zidane, £49 million.^[4] Kaká's record was later broken by Cristiano Ronaldo when he joined Real Madrid for a fee of £80 million. In addition to his contributions on the pitch, Kaká is known for his humanitarian work. In 2004, by the time of his appointment, he became the youngest ambassador of the UN' World Food Programme.[5
On 3 June 2009, Football Italia reported that newly-elected Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez had offered Milan a €68.5 million deal for Kaká,^[25] two days after the player had left for international duty with Brazil.^[26] Milan vice president Adriano Galliani did not deny the reports, and confirmed that he and Kaká's father, Bosco Leite, had traveled to Mexico to meet with La Volpe. "We had lunch and spoke about Kaká. I don't deny it. Negotiations exist, but a deal has yet to be done."^[27] On 4 June, Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport that financial reasons were his motive for the talks with La Volpe. "We cannot allow [Milan] to lose €70 million [...] The reasons behind Kaká's departure would be economic."^[27] On 8 June, Milan and Real Madrid confirmed Kaká has moved to the Bernabéu on a six-year deal.^[28]
Kaká made his unofficial debut on 7 August 2009, in a 5–1 friendly victory against Toronto FC.^[29] He scored his first goal for Madrid during a pre-season match on 19 August 2009, in a 5–0 victory against Borussia Dortmund.^[30] Kaká later made his league debut on 29 August 2009 in a 3–2 win against Deportivo La Coruña.^[31] He scored his first goal, a penalty kick, on 23 September, in a 2–0 against Villarreal.^[32] On 5 August 2010, Real Madrid announced that Kaká had undergone a successful surgery on a long-standing left knee injury and would face up to four months on the sidelines.^[33] Kaká returned to training after a long lay-off and manager Jose Mourinho said that having Kaká back was like a new signing.^[34][35]
After an eight-month absence, Kaká returned to play by entering as a substitute for Karim Benzema on the 77th minute of a 3–2 victory over Getafe on 3 January 2011. He said he was "(...) happy for playing a game again and for stepping onto a pitch."^[36] His first league goal (and his first of the season) after his return from injury came with an assist from Cristiano Ronaldo on a 4–2 victory over Villareal on 9 January.^[37]
In March 2011 Kaká suffered from Iliotibial band syndrome which kept him sidelined for a few weeks. After returning from injury, he appeared in a convincing win over Valencia, scoring two goals.
Kaká had a good start to the 2011-12 Season, having signed a fairly positive preseason.
In September 27th, Kaká experienced one of his best matches as a Real Madrid player during a 3-0 victory over Ajax in the Champions League, as he scored one goal, provided one assist and participated in one of the best team build-ups of the matchday: a counterattacking move involving Özil, Ronaldo and Benzema.^[38] He was later chosen the best player of the Champions League Matchday.^[39]
With this match, Kaká experienced one of the best starts to a season he's ever had, scoring two goals, serving two assists and provoking one penalty for his team.^[40]

Film diawali dengan seorang polisi yang berlari dari sesuatu hingga ia terperangkap disebuah toilet stasiun bawah tanah yang sudah tak terpakai. Ia meminta maaf dari sesuatu yang mengejarnya ketika ia memecahkan sebuah cermin besar yang ada dihadapannya. Lalu pantulannya dalam cermin mengambil sebilah pecahan cermin dan menggorok lehernya, bersamaan dengan itu "ia" yang asli terbunuh dengan cara yang sama.
Ben Carson (Kiefer Sutherland) adalah seorang mantan polisi karena dirinya secara tidak sengaja membunuh temannya sendiri dalam sebuah penyergapan. Pengangguran, ia kini tinggal dengan adiknya Angela ([Amy Smart]]) setelah bercerai dengan Amy (Paula Patton) istrinya yang kini merawat dua anak mereka, Daisy dan Michael. Lalu Ben mendapatkan pekerjaan sebagai seorang satpam yang mengawasi sebuah supermarket Mayflower yang kini sudah tidak beroperasi lagi karena kebakaran. Sudah satu dekade sejak kebakaran dan seorang satpam bergilir untuk memerika tempat itu karena masih ada barang berharga disana. Ben mendapatkan masa lalu supermarket itu sebagai rumah sakit jiwa di tahun 1952 yang membunuh para pasiennya secara brutal sebelum akhirnya disegel dan dibeli pihak supermarket. Saat Ben tengah berjalan di malam hari mengawasi dalam supermarket, ia melihat bayangan dirinya terbakar disisi lain cermin dihadapannya. Sejak itu Ben merasakan ada yang aneh dengan cermin-cermin itu. Lalu, Ben menemukan sebuah dompet milik Gary Lewis, satpam yang pekerjaannya kini Ben gantikan yang sudah almarhum karena diduga bunuh diri di toilet di stasiun bawah tanah. Dompet itu berisikan tulisan "ESSEKER", semalam kemudian Ben mendapatkan sebuah paket dari Gary Lewis yang dikirim beberapa hari sebelum kematiannya, yang berisikan kliping koran mengenai kebakaran Mayflower. Dari teman satpamnya, Ben mengetahui bahwa Gary terobsesi dengan cermin-cermin di dalam supermarket dan membersihkan mereka semua tiap malam.
Ben mulai menjadi paranoid akan cermin-cermin. Ia berkata kepada Angela bahwa ketika ia sedang bercermin, dia seperti tidak melihat dirinya sendiri melainkan seperti ada orang yang melihat dirinya dari dalam cermin. Angela sendiri, menenangkan Ben kendati tidak memercayai hal itu. Ben yang tahu istrinya adalah dokter koroner di rumah sakit, segera meminta Amy untuk membantunya melihat mayat Gary. Selesai melihat, Ben melihat foto rekam TKP yang aneh, bayangan sebilah cermin di dalam cermin tidak tersiram darah, padahal di kenyataannya sebilah cermin itu tersiram darah. Di rumah, Angela yang bersiap untuk mandi, berkaca sebentar dan berendam, ia tidak sadar bayangan dirinya di dalam cermin tidak bergerak. Lalu, bayangan Angela membuka mulut dan rahangnya sendiri hingga rahang bawahnya putus .Di bak mandi, rahang Angela mengalami hal yang sama, hal itu membuatnya shock dan meninggal.
Ben kembali ke rumah dan mendapati polisi telah mengerubungi mayat Angela. Ben tentu bersedih. Lalu ia kembali ke Mayflower dan melepaskan beberapa tembakan kearah cermin, menanyakan apa mau cermin itu sebenarnya. Retakan cermin bergerak dan membuat sebuah tulisan bereja "ESSEKER". Ben menghubungi polisi temannya dan meminta untuk meminjam video interogasi Terrance Barry, orang yang membakar supermarket. Terrance berkata bahwa ia bermaksud membakar cermin-cermin di dalam supermarket karena cermin itu telah membunuh anak dan istrinya, setelah terus-menerus menyuruhnya mencari seseorang bernama Esseker. Ben tahu bahaya mengancamnya dan anak-anaknya. Namun, Amy tidak gampang diyakinkan. Michael mulai mendapatkan pengalaman aneh dengan cermin yang ada dirumah. Saat Ben kembali ke supermarket, ia menemukan sebuah retakan kecil di sebuah ruangan, ia membuka retakan itu dan menemukan sebuah Psychomanteum, atau sebuah bilik dimana seorang yang sakit jiwanya disuruh 'menghadapi' bayangannya sendiri untuk menyembuhkan dirinya. Ben menduga itulah ruangan yang mengawali semua teror. Ia menghubungi temannya yang masih bekerja sebagai polisi dan diminta untuk membawakan berkas rumah sakit St. Matthews. Ia melihat berkas dan menemukan nama Esseker sebagai gadis berumur 12 tahun yang dalam arsip, turut meninggal saat terjadi pembunuhan massal. Ben mulai menyelidiki lagi hingga disebuah titik dimana ia menemukan bahwa Sertifikat Kematian atas Esseker tidak ada, karena ia dipindahkan dari rumah sakit entah kemana dua hari sebelum terjadinya pembunuhan. Amy menyadari keanehan Michael dan cermin dan menelepon Ben. Bersama mereka menutupi semua cermin yang ada di rumah Amy.
Setelah bertanya sana-sini, Ben akhirnya menemukan rumah Anna Esseker. Sang kakak Anna, mengatakan bahwa dulu Anna seperti kesurupan oleh setan-setan, dan diagnosa skizofrenia oleh Dr. Kane, orang yang mengelola St. Matthews yang ternyata menjadikan Anna korban percobaan Psychomanteum dan berhasil, karena setan-setan itu terperangkap masuk ke cermin. Anna yang diduga sudah sembuh, kembali ke rumah secara rahasia dan kembali mendapatkan kesurupan yang sama. Annapun, setelah selesai dengan segala traumatiknya pindah ke Gereja Biarawati St. Augustine dimana cermin dilarang. Anna menjalani kehidupannya hingga sekarang dengan tenang. Ben menuju gereja itu dan berhasil memaksa Anna untuk ikut dengan sebuah ancaman pistol. Mereka sampai ke gedung supermarket dan ketika itu semua cermin bereaksi kepadanya. Anna diikat kembali di kursi ditengah ruangan Psychomanteum.
Di rumah Amy, Michael kesurupan oleh setan di cermin dan mulai mengalirkan semua ruangan dirumah dengan air, Michael dihisap masuk kedalam air sementara Daisy nyaris terbunuh. Amy sendiri berusaha melepaskan diri setelah membawa Daisy ketempat kering. Amy ditenggelamkan di bak kamar mandi dan Amy berusaha melepasnya dengan membuka kenop pembuang air. Di Psychomanteum, Ben disuruh keluar, dan saat itu, semua cermin meledak dalam satu saat yang sama, membuat di Psychomanteum, semua cermin lolos dan memasuki Anna yang kepalanya terpotong karena pecahan cermin. Lalu, setan Anna melompat dan mengejar Ben sementara seisi gedung seperti mulai runtuh. Ben menembak sebuah plafon diatas setan Anna dan membunuh setan tersebut sementara Ben ikut terperangkap. Bersamaan dengan itu, Michael kembali dari air dan Amy yang sudah selamat, berpelukkan dengannya.
Film berakhir dengan Ben yang berhasil keluar dari cermin. Tapi ia melihat orang-orang didepan supermarket yang tidak bereaksi dengan Ben sama sekali. Ben mulai memperhatikan semua tulisan terbalik disana. Ben terperangkap di dalam dunia cermin, ia beranjak ke sebuah jalanan dimana ada sebuah kaca, ia menempelkan tangannya disana. Di dunia nyata, kita melihat bayangan tangan Ben.
